“Withstanding the test of time”
A business model rarely emulated, Thursday’s is a recreational trifecta. Connected to Hotel de la Montagne, it boasts a unique all inclusive, all under one roof concept providing full grade service to suit all corporate or individual needs. Pursuing this very distinct mission since 1973, its consistency and the fervor of its faithful clientele have transformed Thursday’s into a staple of Montreal nightlife.
The upper floor features the restaurant, dubbed Les Beaux Jeudis showcases a strong penchant for French rustic cuisine. Traditional offerings such as seafood bouillabaisse can be paired up with upscale dishes: Rack of lamb provence style, Tartare Steak, Chillean seabass, Beef tenderloin with green peppercorn sauce. Oenophiles rejoice, approximately 100 reds and whites are made available a la carte. One must note that diners may request a second (and pricier) selection, withheld for the more experienced palate. Wednesdays are distinguished by their all-you-cant eat shrimp special while Sundays overturn the energetic evenings for serene morning to afternoon brunches, complete with magicians and free make-up to divert children. Entertainment, rarely an afterthought, is currently courtesy of the Luc Beaugrand trio, whose jazz sets enthrall diners well into closing time on Saturday nights.
Considered a Crescent Street mainstay, one is likely to find the district usuals inside. Daytime bar patrons tend to be casual and laid-back while the evenings at les Beaux Jeudis usually make way for the corporate crowd, not to mention the tourists. This unlikely melding pot is found cheerily hobnobbing by nighttime. Nestled right into the Hotel, the club pulsates with old school and current beats offered up by resident DJ Pierre Perreault. Thursday’s club is famed for its rotating dance platform on which an energetic singles scene constantly flutters about. If one is to believe the custom from which the locale’s moniker derives from (Find your companion by Thursday: Be set for the weekend) a recuperative Sunday brunch is most likely to be in order…
